MOFEG Black Stars' Tourist Group

If the question ever be asked which tour company in Ghana coordinate the largest group of tourists to watch Ghana's Black Stars games in either Accra or Kumasi, the answer without doubt is MOFEG Tours.

Since August 2010 up to date we have coordinated a total of over 500 visiting international students and tourists to watch games in Accra or Kumasi. Our biggest game was when we sent 150 visiting international students to watch Ghana vs Malawi during the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier in Accra. The C.E.O of MOFEG Tours and participants were granted interviews by Ghana's ace TV journalist Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.

It is with no doubt that the Ghana Football Association and Ghana Sports Council recognize MOFEG Tours as the number one coordinator in bringing tourists to watch Black Stars game. We have coordinated a total of 8 trips to both Accra and Kumasi sports stadia for our tourists to enjoy the fantastic atmosphere of watching one of African's best team during a football match.

This year for instance, we were in Kumasi in March to watch Ghana versus Sudan, a game which Ghana won by 4 - 0. Our tourists were excited to have taken part in this and especially with MOFEG Tours.

We are also looking forward to sending over 100 to Kumasi in September to watch the crucial game between Ghana and Zambia; a win for Ghana in this match will take them a step closer to qualification for Brazil 2014. If you happen to be in Ghana by that time, please join MOFEG Tours for just a cool 95 cedis ($47.5). This fee includes air-conditioned bus transportation, tickets to the game, snacks, drink, bottled water and lunch.

We look forward to another amazing afternoon in Kumasi come September this year!

The MOFEG Bus Driver

Over the last 3 years, we have travelled with a number of bus drivers through our affiliated bus rental companies. Our drivers bring professionalism and efficiency to the work during MOFEG trips.

MOFEG Tours is of the opinion that the success of any tour largely depend on the transport unit and as such we go the extra mile to keep these drivers in check and also motivate them. How do we do this? We always deal with rental companies with reputable experience in touring Ghana and West Africa. Our drivers in addition to the training from their main employers receive additional ethical and professional training from MOFEG Tours as stated in "MOFEG Transport Code" which includes good and professional inter-personal relationship with us as a company and for that matter our clients.

We also motivate our drivers and reward them at the end of each tour. We have a package in place which add as additional incentive to these drivers. This is to encourage them to display their outmost professionalism during tours. We call it the "MOFEG Driver Performance Allowance". In addition to allowances paid by MOFEG as part of rental fees for our buses, we go the extra mile to give the MOFEG Driver Performance Allowance to drivers who exhibit high sense of professionalism during our tours. We also provide decent accommodation, usually the same facility as our clients and also allow our drivers to eat from the same restaurants as our clients during our tours. We treat our drivers with respect.

During tours, MOFEG staff on board the bus monitor the driver's performance with regard to: speed limits, overtaking, etc. The driver is always prompted when ever he does any of these wrongly. MOFEG staff never sleeps on board the bus during tours and always awake to monitor the driver. We have outlined in our itineraries for tours rest stops not only for our clients but also our drivers. This is to enable them rest for at least 15 minutes every 2 to 3 hours of driving.

We at MOFEG Tours believe that the safety of our clients must never be compromised for anything and we strive to always to keep our clients safe during travels.

The MOFEG Time

Many at times tourists after reading a lot about Ghana prior to arrival or after been in the country for a while turn to assume that everyone and even companies are never on time. As a Ghanaian and C.E.O of MOFEG Tours, I totally agree with them because we as Ghanaians find it difficult to be on time. Having said that, it is also the unknown fact that few Ghanaians and companies take time management very seriously.

When MOFEG Tours was established we had five important principles in mind and time management was one of them; we actually labeled it the MOFEG Time. This is to mean that we as a company will strive to either ahead of time or exactly on time. Almost all our past 270 tourists (up to date) can attest to the fact that the MOFEG Time is either ahead of stipulated times on itineraries for tours or exactly ahead of time. The question most tourists ask is why MOFEG Tours manages time so efficiently. Well, we'll in this post give you few details and these are as follows:

1. It is at the heart of our core principles to be on time. We are MOFEG Tours because we are always on MOFEG Time. This is what makes us MOFEG Tours.

2. Itineraries have been drawn and tested over times and this included the personal feasibility trips around the country and West Africa by C.E.O of MOFEG Tours prior to the launch of our first tour in August 2010.

3. We have freelance tour agents and assistants on major roads leading to our tourist sites. They keep us well informed prior to every trip with regard to road construction and diversions, traffic situations, etc. This compel us to factor in all the above per tour at a particular time.

4. We have worked with MOFEG affiliated restaurants on major roads, rest stops, and in hotels we normally check our clients into for a while now. As a result they all know about the MOFEG Times and adhere to them correctly.

5. The last but not the least is actually called the "MOFEG LIE". Knowing very well it will still be difficult to have affiliates of our service provisions such as bus transport, hotels and restaurant we have factored in the MOFEG Lie. This means MOFEG Tours will intentionally omit 30 - 1.30 minutes time duration and inform our affiliate service providers as such. For example MOFEG can inform the bus rental company that is usually not on time or assumed to not be on time that departure time from Accra will be 4am when in actual fact we will state on the itinerary to our client as 5am. This means that no matter how late the bus driver arrives, MOFEG will still be able to depart Accra ahead of time or exactly on time.

The above are the few of steps taken by MOFEG Tours in ensuring that we are always on time.

The Genesis of MOFEG Tours

Since this is our first blog, we would first of all like to take you back to the beginning of MOFEG Tours. The idea came into mind for the first time when the current C.E.O of MOFEG Tours, Moses Gbeku was a study abroad student in Russia in October 2007. Upon his return to Ghana in June 2008, Moses decided to begin the process of setting up a student travel and tour company. To do this he needed the experience and contacts. As a result upon graduating from the University of Ghana in May 2009, Moses took a job with the International Programmes Office of the University of Ghana, a section responsible for coordinating all visiting international students and faculty to the University of Ghana. Moses worked there from July 2009 - July 2010 and used the opportunity to establish contacts and travel across Ghana Togo and Benin. In August 2010, MOFEG Tours was established and we launched our first tour on August 24. This tour took over 19 tourists on a cruise on lake Volta.

Since August 2010 to date we have coordinated over 270 tourists from over 15 countries from 6 different continents. We have explored all tourist sites in Ghana Togo Benin and Cote d'Ivoire.

In the upcoming blogs we will give details on our tours since the very first tour on August 24, 2010. In the meantime, feel free to like our page on facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mofeg-Travel-Tours/179391458833692 for pictures and updates
