The Russians In West Africa

Hello Guys!

I have not been around for a while - tourism travel-wise. I took some time off tours to explore other opportunities in Digital Advertising, Mining, Oil & Gas and recently Lottery & Gaming. I am still experiencing these industries and providing consulting services to businesses within the scope.

Why am I back? I am back to coordinate a tour I have so much yearned to provide - for my fellow Russians. Yes fellow Russians - well, you all know I am not Russian but I have had strong connection and affiliation with the people of Russia since 2007 while studying abroad. Bilingual in Russian and English languages, I have provided business support services for Russians, Ukrainians and Belorussians across various business scope over the last 10 years.

It is therefore exciting to connect with them again but this time it will be under tourism. So what is the deal this time around? - I am about embarking on by far one of the best tours in my over 10 years experience in West African tours. MOFEG Tours is expecting a group of 10 Russians for a 12 day West African tour spanning 3 countries and 16 cities; yeah you got that right - 16 cities in 12 days

MOFEG Tours has in the past provided educational placements to universities in Russia (10 students across 5 cities since 2012) and hosted 2 business groups to Ghana from Russia. However it is the first time we are hosting a group of 10 Russians sightseeing 3 countries combined in a 12 day tour.

Having taken a 5 year break from tourism and road travels, it feels good to be back to coordinate this tour and explore part of the continent I have so much fallen in love with.

Keep following us and I'll update you all on this tour expected to take place between January 18 - 30, 2020.

MOFEG Tours in Togo, Benin & Cote d'Ivoire

MOFEG Tours has been to three other West African countries and in this blog we'll show you how to tour Togo, Benin and Cote d'Ivoire. Whenever you in Ghana, do not hesitate to visit neighbouring West African countries such as Togo, Benin and Cote d'Ivoire. These countries are within reasonable driving distance and they have a lot of history and adventure to offer to travel lovers.

Let's begin with Togo, a small country within 3 hours drive from Accra; Ghana's capital. When you arrive in Lome, the capital city of Togo you would realize that you are in a totally different amazing environment. The small city of Lome main transport are hundreds or even thousands motorbikes. Hop onto a motorbike and explore the city in style. You should visit the grand marche, arts village, fetish market, independence square and for history a trip to the national museum shouldn't be left out. For amazing local food, the best place is Norfegali and if you want good night life just grab a seat outside one of the numerous open bars on the street or visit the famous Club Privilege known as the largest nightclub in West Africa.

From Lome it is very easy to enter Benin. Your first point of visit is Grand Popo, a resort in Benin. From Grand Popo you can also visit the small town of Ouidah, known as the centre of Vodoo. In Ouidah, the Portuguese Museum, Python temple, 4km slave route to the point of no return are the main stuff to do. If you love noisy, chaotic cities, then Cotonou is the place to be. This city has both sides; calm residential and disorganized and noisy Dantokpa market. For those who love history and calmness, a trip to Porto Novo should be an option. At Porto Novo you can visit museums such as Da Silva or the King's Museum. You can also visit Ganvie, village on stilts.

A trip to Cote d'Ivoire is a must. You can do three things in Cote d'Ivoire; visit Grand Bassam for the history and culture, trip to Assinie Mafia for the beautiful resorts and Abidjan, the modern city with its amazing skyline. For night life, Abidjan has a lot to offer; VIP, Dream Bar,etc are few of the best.

We look forward to expanding our tours to Nigeria, Senegal, Liberia and Sierra Leone over the next 2 years.

MOFEG 2013 Summer Tour

We have re-packaged our summer tours to attract more clients. This new package will start with  a group of 11 from University College London  (UCL) as they tour Ghana as part of their volunteer service with Global Brigades.

For a cool $485 starting this June, you and your group can enjoy this 6-day tour of Ghana. This fee will however increase to $599 next summer. However such an increment comes with an extra day and extra tourist destination (making it 7-day tour).

The above package based on responses received so far, will be available during winter and spring tour seasons as well. Thinking about travelling to a warmer climate during the cold winter in your country? Then your solution is MOFEG's 7-day tour which is available from December through to March every year.

Our group from UCL will begin their tour with a sensational canopy walk in the central region of Ghana (Ghana is divided into 10 administrative regions). The canopy walk is the longest in Africa and the second longest in the world. After the canopy walk, they will get to spend two nights at Ghana's amazing beach resorts; Beyin & Green Turtle Beach Resorts. Accommodation will be in beach huts and there will be bonfire as well. The group will also tour Nzulezo Stilts Village, known for having the largest number of human inhabitants living on water. For a little bit of colonial history, the group will visit Fort Appollonia.

The 6-day tour will also include a city tour of Accra with visit to Makola market, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Dubois Centre. They will end their 6-day tour with an overnight trip to Wli waterfalls, Tafi-Atome monkey sanctuary and mountain Afadjato.

The above tour was designed specifically for the UCL group. You should contact MOFEG Tours for your own designed tour.
